Goodbye from a duck who looks like Nellie.
New crew member, Calle with us for a few days. Heading for the bridge and hoping we can clear the height. Which we did, just. The tide was coming in and we would not have made it half an hour later. The bridge has set opening times, though, and we just have had to wait.
Passed a Dutch boat again.
Leaving the Küstcanal and entering the Weser River. We very cleverly planned our trip so the we entered the Weser when the tide was going out so we were travelling nearly18 km/hour into Bremerhavn.
The skyline of Bremerhavn, futuristic city?
Staying at City Port, right in the centre. Arrived just before low tide.
Six hours later
Another high tide photo.
And low tide.
The waterfront in Bremerhavn, a very enjoyable city.
The ships museum in Bremerhavn. We had a pleasant and interesting afternoon walking around the waterfront area. Bremerhavn, another place we knew nothing about and which turned out to be great. Have not delved into the history but because there are only knew buildings we presume that the city was bombed during WW 2. Carl found a plaque which commemorated the place where Jews and Gypseys were kept during that time.
