Cannes 14-16 August

A much needed rest in Cannes after 3 months of hard work discovering new places nearly every day. Now happy to be on dry land in Cannes for a week.

Bought two slices of apple pie wrapped up beautifully in this packet.

Pommes tarta and pommes accie....something. Delicious.

Watched a water jousting match. Very strange sport. Two boats, each with a person standing high up on a ladder/platform and armed with a pole, pass each other and try to push each other into the water! Apparently a popular sport in France.

Always something happening in Cannes, Saturday night was Argentina's turn to take part in the fireworks  competition. We sat on Lellebelles deck and had the best view. Half an hour of fireworks!

Sunday morning walk along the beachfront, stopped to watch the super yachts. One super yacht, Boss Boss was all set to go when the anchor got stuck in a mooring line and gave much entertainment to all of us spectators, who would never be able to own a super yacht like that!

Checked Lellebelle, who is sleeping alone in the marina, swim in the pool, lunch and afternoon sleep. What are Sunday afternoons for?
