Morning swim before leaving Finale Liguri.
The marina is situated under a high cliff with the road and the railway above it. The sun goes behind the mountain at about 6 pm, which makes it a bit cooler. We have a public beach to the east and many many private beaches to the west.
The marina. It is about 1-2 km into the town. Have read in the brochures that Alassio became very popular in the 1870's, when the railway from London to Genoa was completed. The English nobility (the first Hooray Henry's?) came for holidays. Many beautiful buildings and a few Anglican churches in the town.
View from Lellebelle of the chapel on the hill. La Capalletta.
Here's the Capeletta at night. This Friday evening was a big festival in Alassio town celebrating the victory over the Sarasens. A reinactment of the sea battle and a magnificent firework display at 2230.
