Early morning photo from bedroom in Larasoana.
Together with our the proprietor, Carmen, who took very well care of us. She was probably a bit shocked with us, ordering Cava on arrival and asking if she could make us dinner. But she was soon part of the game and collected a whole bunch of vegetables from her garden for the soup. I hope she did not have to collect the "pork" as well!
And the pilgrims ready for Pamplona after a breakfast with toasted baguette, delicious homemade jam, home baked cake and coffee.
Bye bye Carmen and Casa Sangalo!
A very well cared for farm along the way with a church, and turkeys!
The happy pilgrims dwarfed by a few of the "Gigantes.
Made it! Pamplona, beer and calamari sticks. More beer than usual in the lovely sunshine.
And we meet up with Hermann, Gunilla and Molly the dog, who have come from Bordeaux to be with us.
Babysitting, or dog sitting, Molly, while Hermann and Gunilla park their car! Hermann and Gunilla live in France where dogs are allowed in restaurants, but, we have learned, not in Spain. No, no perro. But dogs are allowed in the hotel rooms.
In front of the corrida, the "Bull run" monument. It is in street Roncesvalles. One could believe that the sole reason for Carl coming to Pamplona was to follow the corrida! Which we did, even though there were no bulls and freezing cold. Passed the place where we think Ernest Hemmingway stayed when he watched the bull run.
This is the last stretch of the Bull run. If the bulls make it this far they enter the corrida and that's the end for them. The street leading to the corrida is the famous Estafeta street.
A folklore display in Placa de Burgos.
Pamplona is a city full of life. More and more people filled the streets and bars in the evening. The life and high spirit makes you realise that Spain has a rhythm of its own.
