Trebes - Bram 13 April

Getting there slowly but surely, 9 locks today. Looking forward to the return journey when we can take it much slower and enjoy the ride.

Upstream lock practice.
Leslie jumps off the boat and walks to the lock...

picks up the front line and ties it to the bollard...
take care of the back line and gives to Carl and then takes favourite position......

showing off new color gloves....

Carl partaking in his favourite morning ritual, buying a baguette and carrying it under his arm.

This is a photo from Friday which we forgot to publish. It is Lise and Prebens boat, Anna the Brave.

This is the mini-barge which the couple and their two grandchildren are travelling in. They were planning to reach Bram tonight but we have not seen them yet.

Arrived in Port Bram, a tiny canal port where we actually got electricity! Walked 1,6 km to the town of Bram to find some food, found a Boulangerie and that gave Carl the opportunity to once again walk like a Frenchman, that is with a baguette under the arm! Found a butcher/wine/deli still open. Had a glass of wine at only open cafe/bar full of men drinking cherry wine, Naturel, they told us.

Bram is a village built on a circular plan with a 13th century church in the centre. A street in the circular old town. Carl still holding his baguette.
Pass this structure on the way. Information below. Could it be a pigeon coop? (Duiwehok?)
This is the explanation. One can visit the Baron de Lordats chateau in the village.

Met a couple from England who are going home tomorrow and have given us the vegetables they did not manage to eat. Charles and Allison. Interesting speaking to them about the future of Britain and EU. Charles is a cricket commentator on TV.
