Arrived at the first of today's 6 locks with two hire boats in front of us. This is the first day for the hired boats and the "captains " are not really sure how to handle the boats. Getting into the narrow lock is not easy and this boat on front of us spun around and blocked the entrance to the lock. We, the experienced lock handlers, just relaxed and waited for them to get it right! After all, we have done more than 100 locks the past two weeks.
And we meet a boat with another group,of happy South Africans, this time from Cape Town. There they are in the distance.
A view of a castle?or fortress? in Argens-Minervois.
A view along the canal, beautiful mountains in the distance.
Stopped in Paraza to visit Chateau Paraza. Dot and Renato have a brother living neaby, but was unfortunately not home.
But we visited the winery
And tasted some good wine. Too good, so we bought a box! Got one bottle free!
The actual chateau, where one can spend the night in complete royale luxury.
In the village of Paraza, having lunch on board.
Passed through this busy town, Argeliers.
Le Somail where you can find the best bookshop in the world, apparently!
Just another lovely view while passing through towns on the canal.
View of Port Capestang. Little Lellebelle somewhere amongst the larger barges.

A view that I imagine Dot and Renato have when they visit Renatos brother.

Arrived in Capestang. I love Capestang, sounds almost like Cape Town. Hot shower and off to see the village.
The is is the church, St Etienne in Capestang. Cannot believe that there is such an enormous church in this little town,View of Port Capestang. Little Lellebelle somewhere amongst the larger barges.
Dinner on the canal, lamb shanks.
