Macon - Chalon-sur-Saone 22 May

Rain was predicted today, but not a drop when we started off. However, the good weather did not last long and it rained on and off untill about 3 pm, and now it is pouring down. Warm and cosy on Lellebelle in Chalon port.
The Saone River is very full, overflowing its banks, but only a small current.

We stopped over in a town, Tournus.
A very picturesque little town, with quite a lot of tourists.
We stopped over mainly to buy a baguette, which we did not have time for this morning. Carl could pretend to be a Frenchman again, with a baguette under his arm.
A street in Tournus.

Carl is fascinated by Napoleons advance through France. Two years ago it was the 30 year war, this year it is Napoleon?
