Staying in Macon another day.
Long lunch called for on a wonderful hot and sunny day. Restaurant la Tete de Lard, which I think means the head of the Bacon?
Cycled over the stone bridge to the other bank for lunch. Seems like one should eat pork here.
Could not understand all the parts of the pork in the dishes so I opted for a salad, but Carl got ham, pork belly and trotters!
Riverside lunch, best thing to do on a sunny Saturday.
We seem to be forgetting the museums and churches and concentrating on eating our way through France.
But we have taken time to see the wooden House in the centre of Mavon
The wooden house was built between 1490 and 1510. It is the oldest and most famous house in Macon. It's facade is decorated with many saucy ( according to Fluvial guide)statuettes. These are characters with men with monkey masks in different poses.
Could it be that summer has arrived?
Carl's favourite pose, now that summer has arrived, maybe!
Went to the wine festival again for the good music, wine and two more glasses!
Everyone needs a quiet moment with aswan.
Not everyone, but certainly Carl needs a quiet moment at a "Cave". Collecting Beaujolais and Macon wine. Easy to tie up on the bicycles.
