Niderviller 8 June

A lazy day in Niderviller. Saw a signpost to La Pasarelle, which is a farm selling products from goat milk.

 

There were almost 50 nice looking goats on the field munching grass like it is the best thing in the world. 

At a closer look one could see that they were milk goats with udders bursting. Poor goats!

In the shop we got some goat cheeses and a selection of the artisan beer "La Grenouille Assoiffée" which is "the thirsty frog". 

Frog legs we haven't tried yet but snails and other French specialities. Tonight we will have calf head or was it goat? At the local Auberge Tannenheim. 

Met an interesting couple, David and Carrie, who are in their camper van on their way to rock climbing. David is a photographer and author of guidebooks for rock climbing all over France. So interesting hearing about the ins and outs of rock climbing. David made a documentary for BBC on the different train routes in South Africa. This was in 1991.
