Niderviller 9 June

Now it is official, the lock number 25 leading into Nancy is not functioning. The Sarre canal is open. So we have decided to take Sarre canal to Saarbrücken and reach the Mosel that way.

We will take the train to Nancy where we will meet Alex, John, Lucy and Seb. Hopefully start the trip on the Sarre on Monday. 

So, since we are not taking the canal to Nancy, we took a walk along the canal to Hesse and Xouacange, 9 km one way!

Our very kind neighbours, Dorothea  and Ulli (boat Stella Maris), have offered to drive to the station tomorrow to catch the train to Nancy. We had a pleasant evening with them at the Auberge Tannenheim. We did not eat Kalbkopf!
