Niderviller to Harskirchen 13 June

Started off at 8 am, no rain, after 30 minutes, rain, after another 30 minutes sun! The whole day we seemed to be between two big black clouds, but in the sunshine. So much easier with 17 locks.
The canal passes through many etangs. Lots of water around here.

Nearing the crossing to Nancy (closed) or to the left, the Saar to the right.
Nancy, been there, done that, by train!
Sarreguemines, maybe heading for there today, but too many locks and got behind a boat going 6 km/h. We are allowed to go 8 km/nr on the canals. So we stopped in Harskirchen.
The canal de houlliers de la Saar.

A little kid, so sweet
The Canal Des  Houillieres de la Sarre.
The little port in Harskirchen with the last lock of the day in the foreground.

The town, Harskirchen has two churches. I presume it is because there are both German and French speaking people here.
But it's a lovely town.
Who would not like to go to this little school!
And here we found a pub with a television. Nothing special about that but Carl got them to show the Swedish/Irish Euro match.

1-1 thanks to Ireland.

The little port Harskirchen, a wonderful little place.
