Lots of industries, working and abandoned along the way. We are looking for the Saar wines so have stopped in the town Mertzig. (They have a brewery here! Wine?)
And next to us we have the little boat, Dordrecht, again.
Still fascinated by this couple travelling for more than 4 months in this little boat.
They told us that it is a copy of a Dutch fishing boat.
Here are the photos I took at the port outside Saarbrücken.
They pack everything they need into this little boat.
That is the bed, the kitchen and the fridge.
They keep the food in a box in the middle of the boat, where the fishermen kept the fish. It is cool at the bottom of the boat.
When they "at home" they sit on their chairs and read or whatever, quietly and it appears as if they are in complete harmony.
But back to Saarbrücken and our departure.
Passing through Saarbrucken for second time, sure that the lock is open today.
Cannot resist, the little people in the little boat. It started raining so they put up an umbrella. Lellebelle in the background in the port Merzig.
The River Saar. So far not so impressive.
Took a walk into the lively town of Merzig.
There is a park with places to awake the senses. This is the "Saline"

The building which houses the Saline. We visited a similar place in Bad Essen on the Mittelandscanal 2014.

And in English.
After all that salt, a beer in the brewery next to the port. Place to be, Germany!
After a couple of beers, hell, dunkel und Weiss, Leslie insisted that there was free WiFi in the brewery. I am not so sure. Let's have another look. Carl has taken over the blogging.
But look here! What first looked like an innocent after work drink at the brewery turned out to develop to a passionate romance. Hand that was out of control and nose to nose conversation.
"Let's go to a place where we can be alone.
That Swede is getting irritating with his iPhone camera!"
